Need for Recognition

People react to things because of the way it makes them feel. How we feel about ourselves can be connected to what others think of us. Knowing and respecting people is key to recognition and praise in the workplace and the catalyst for change.
We all have a need for recognition and praise because it satisfies our “esteem needs.” Receiving recognition produces feelings of confidence, worth, strength, and usefulness. When we deny recognition and praise, we produce feelings of inferiority, weakness, or helplessness.
Clearly, you want your employees to feel useful, strong and confident so they will be productive, creative, and efficient.
